Because they worked when used in multiple units, as they mimic the random, quick "flashes" or "strobe" given off by a flock of contented ducks sitting on the water or dry ground, telling other ducks: It's Ok to land here. If you observe a flock of contented ducks, you will see these random "flashes" that rotate or flicker throughout the flock. MOJO has improved on this ground-breaking concept with the Flock A Flicker 2 4-Pack, including an upgraded housing with all other components same as the original which emits the same flash.  The waterfowl community has struggled for years to bring effective, user friendly and reasonably priced life-like “motion” to goose hunting. Spinning Wing Decoys do not work well on geese, and often will spook them. Full body goose decoys can be made to “move” similar to live geese, but they tend to be large, noisy, user un-friendly and expensive. By use of much examination of video footage of flocks of ducks in a relaxed state, followed by much experimentation under actual field conditions, MOJO established with their floating Flock-A- Flickers and their Dove-A-Flickers that realistic motion can be added to a decoy spread without making the decoys themselves move. The birds do not notice. Now, MOJO has used this same experience to develop “motion” originally intended for a goose decoy spread, with the development of their patent pending MOJO Mini Flags, which are small flags fashioned after the large flags typically used for attracting geese at long distances, and rotated by a motorized housing that can be scattered thru the decoys to give the “impression” that the decoy spread itself is moving. It has been field tested and proven very effective.
The typical large flags which are hand operated goose flags are effective in attracting birds from long distances, but for obvious reasons must be discontinued as the birds’ approach, effectively killing the motion. Whereas, the automated Mini Flags tend to finish the birds and cause them to land in close proximity.
